So let me tell you about it......
World poetry day was conceived during the 30th General Conference in Paris in 1999. World Poetry Day is the occasion to honour poets, revive oral traditions of poetry recitals, promote the reading, writing and teaching of poetry, foster the convergence between poetry and other arts such as theatre, dance, music and painting, and raise the visibility of poetry in the media.
Schools celebrate this occasion by organising readings for poems from different cultures. But since most schools are closed, to celebrate it by yourself you can write some poems and maybe share it with everyone in the comments section!

we celebrate some of the greatest poets
who are true world assets
schools celebrate it with a lot of ease
I suppose everyone is pleased
it's on 21st March, Saturday
spread the word I say
poetry is a work of art
it touches you right in the heart
it takes a lot of thought
first you have to think of a plot
it's fun to read on the bay
